Baseball defeats Eastbrook

Tonight the Starfires went to Eastbrook and came home with a 6-1 win behind hits from Joe Stuber, James Arnold, and Keagan Yoder.  Shaffer collected the win on the mound going 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 7.  Grant Besser came in to throw the 6th inning striking out the side.

Baseball tops Monroe Central

The Starfires beat Monroe Central on Senior Night at Harry F. Anderson Field by a score of 10-1.  The SA pitching staff of Besser, Shaffer, and Davidson threw a 2 hitter on the mound.  The Starfires racked up 10 runs on 11 hits.  The scoring got started with a 2-run homerun by Joe Stuber.  Besser,

Varsity Baseball defeats Jay County

South Adams got up early on Jay County with 10 runs in the first but Jay County bounced back in the bottom of the 1st inning with a 5 spot making it 10-5 after 1.  Neither team’s starting pitcher made it out of the 1st.  The rest of the game was a battle of the

South Adams needed 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to down the Bruins.  Adam Besser got the start and went 4 innings giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, striking out 6.  He then gave the ball to Austin Davidson who surrendered 2 runs on 2 hits in 3 innings of work

Baseball Beats Wayne

The Starfires improved to 12-1 on the season with a win over the Wayne Generals.  The Starfires struck first  in the bottom of the 1st with a 2-run homerun by Collin Shaffer to deep centerfield.  The scoring continued in the 3rd inning with another 2 spot which included some walks and ended with a sacrifice

SA JV vs. Northfield

South Adams JV defeated Northfield 5-3 thanks to a strong start.  SA scored on a double by Nick Miller, a single by Tommy Herman, and a double by James Arnold in the second inning.   Arnold was the winning pitcher. He surrendered three runs on one hit over four innings, striking out seven.  Luke Yoder
