The Starfish split with Bellmont in a swim meet full of good competition. The girls lost by a score of 94-71, and the boys won with a score of 116-58. The Starfish had a strong showing in the pool. Bellmont’s girls team outnumbered the Lady Starfish 21 to 7. Even though the Lady Starfish were heavily outnumbered, they swam well, winning six of the 12 events. The guys had many personal best swims, with Colin Alberson having a great night taking considerable time off his swims in both of his individual events.
For the girls, the A 200 free relay was the only victorious SA relay. Those that swam on the relay were Addisyn Hunley, Maggie Nussbaum, Hannah Neuenschwander, and Isabel VonGunten. Individual winners were VonGunten in the 50 and 100 free, Neuenschwander in the fly, and Maggie Nussbaum in the 100 breaststroke. The A 200 free relay consisting of Hunley, Michelle Sandoval, Claire Burson, and Neuenschwander and the A 400 free relay consisting of Burson, Nussbaum, Aubri Gerber, and VonGunten both took second. Individual swims that placed second for the Lady Starfish were scored by Burson in the 200 and 500 free and Hunley in the backstroke.
For the boys, all three A relays were victorious. The A medley relay was comprised of Parker Collingsworth, Curtis Sprunger, Alec Neuenschwander, and Zach Herman; the A 200 free relay was made up of Aidan VonGunten, Herman, Isaac Gorrell, and Trey Lehman; and Gorrell, Race Anderson, Lehman, and VonGunten made up the A 400 free relay. Individual winners were Blaine Harruff in diving, Colin Alberson in the 200 and 500 free, Trey Lehman in the 50 free and backstroke, Herman in the fly, and Gorrell in the 100 free. Second place finishes were scored by VonGunten in the IM and fly, Gorrell in the 50 free, Anderson in the 100 free, and Sprunger in the breaststroke.
