The Starfish swam well tonight against Fort Recovery and Minster, despite over half the team being ill. The girls got second overall with Fort Recovery scoring 121 points, SA scoring 65, and Minster rounding out the girls meet with a score of 28. The boys won the meet by earning 94 points, Minster scored 81 to get second, and Fort Recovery finished third with a score of 38.
For the girls, Maggie Nussbaum was the lone winner for SA. She earned a first place finish in the breaststroke. A second place finish was swam by all three A relays. The A medley relay consisted of Addisyn Hunley, Nussbaum, Hannah Neuenschwander, and Isabel VonGunten. The A 200 free relay consisted of Aubri Gerber, Michelle Sandoval, Hunley, and VonGunten. The A 400 free relay consisted of Neuenschwander, Nussbaum, Gerber, and Claire Burson. Individuals who who earned a second place finish were VonGunten in the 50 free, Kami Fulford in diving, Burson in the 100 free, and Gerber in the 500 free.
For the boys, first place finishes were swam by Colin Alberson in the 200 free, Blaine Harruff in diving, Aidan VonGunten in the 100 free, and the A 400 free relay consisting of Alec Neuenschwander, Parker Collingsworth, Zach Herman, and Race Anderson. Second place finishes were swam by the A medley relay, which consisted of Trey Lehman, Curtis Sprunger, VonGunten, and Isaac Gorrell; Neuenschwander in the 200 free; Herman in the fly; Gorrell in the 100 free; Colin Alberson in the 500 free; the A 200 free relay consisting of VonGunten, Anderson, Gorrell, and Lehman; Lehman in the backstroke; and Sprunger in the breaststroke.
The Starfish will be back in action on Thursday when they host Bluffton.
