Early Lead For Fort Recovery Seals Fate For South Adams Starfires JV
South Adams fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-9 loss to Fort Recovery on Tuesday. Fort Recovery scored on a single by K Wendel, a stolen base by D Evers, an error, a single by S Jones, and a stolen base by K Dues in the first inning.
Despite the loss, South Adams Starfires JV did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Fort Recovery had 11 hits on the way to victory.
In the first inning, Fort Recovery got their offense started. Wendel singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
South Adams scored four runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Tommy Herman and Tim Davidson, all driving in runs in the frame.
Evers got the win for Fort Recovery. He surrendered five runs on eight hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Jones threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Tyler Yoder took the loss. He surrendered six runs on three hits over three innings, striking out three and walking one.
South Adams racked up ten hits. Herman, Tyler Yoder, and Luke Yoder each had multiple hits. Luke Yoder and Herman each collected three hits to lead South Adams. L Yoder led South Adams with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
